Humidity has a significant impact on our everyday lives. It not only influences nature and our well-being, but also affects the service life of electronics, devices, machines and buildings. It is therefore important to keep an eye on the humidity around us and take measures to regulate it if necessary, because every type of humidity has its own challenges
Many manufacturers of air conditioning systems and humidity measuring devices rely on humidity sensors from iST. The Swiss sensor manufacturer offers a wide range of humidity sensors for any desired room climate and develops customized sensor solutions that are tailored to the specific needs of their customers’ applications.
Whether as a component, module with textile protection or with an integrated heater, the iST capacitive humidity sensor components measure 0 % RH to 100 % RH and function in temperature ranges from -80 °C up to +190 °C. All iST sensors are characterized by their excellent linearity, low hysteresis, fast response times and high chemical resistance.
Moisture in oil measurement
In production plants or transformers, monitoring moisture in oil and lubricants is just as important as the indoor climate, because water in oil causes corrosion and wear on machines and devices.
Early detection of damage caused by water contamination allows better planning and execution of maintenance work. Efficiency is increased, costs optimized, and oil changes as well as the environmental impact of used oil are reduced.

MK33-W
The MK33-W capacitive humidity sensor from iST has been especially developed for high-end measurement applications and harsh environments, making it ideal for oil applications. The MK33 is characterized by its high operating humidity and temperature ranges and its excellent chemical resistance.

HYT 271 MK33
The above sensor is also available as a module with 4 SIL contacts as HYT 271 MK33 and is also suitable for harsh environments.

Moisture in oil probe
The iST Moisture-in-Oil probe is ideal for use in an industrial environment. With its robust and compact screw-in housing and its universal, digital electronic interface (I2C), the probe can be easily integrated into various measuring and monitoring systems. The probe is supplied temperature-compensated and calibrated.

Test board for humidity sensors
In addition, a variety of single or multi-channel test boards with analog (0-10V) outputs are available for evaluation purposes as well as a white paper for more detailed information.
Dew point monitoring
Dew point measurement is indispensable in compressed air technology and other industrial applications that require a dry climate. Monitoring the dew point prevents condensation and corrosion. In compressors, dew point sensors help to monitor and control the moisture content in the compressed air.
In drying rooms, precise measurement and control of the dew point can optimize energy consumption by drying only as much as is necessary. In the food and pharmaceutical industries as well as in ultra-dry battery production environment, monitoring the dew point ensures that the air meets the strict drying standards.

K5-W for dew point monitoring
iST’s K5-W capacitive humidity sensor with its small form factor and high sensitivity has been specially developed for low humidity applications. The sensor is characterized by excellent stability at low humidity, very low drift and a high chemical resistance.

HYT 939 K5 Module
The sensor is also available as a module. Installed in a 16 bar pressure-tight TO39 housing, it is available as HYT 939 K5
RH/T module for dew point monitoring
The ready-to-use HYT939P K5 probe with steel housing is a digital RH/T module with I²C outputs. It is supplied with a low humidity calibration, housing and cable. Thanks to its simple screw mounting (SW22) it is easy to integrate into any system.
The HYT family: modules for various applications
With a chemical and condensed waterproof sensing area, iST's technically robust digital HYT humidity modules offer a wide application window and an optimal price-performance ratio.

Low maintenance and long-term stability: Heated HYT 223
The RH/T module with integrated heating structure and particle filter is designed for applications demanding long-term stable humidity monitoring.
A fully integrated platinum microheater enables on-demand/periodic heating. This minimizes long-term drift effects thanks to effective reconditioning of the sensor by cleaning at >120°C. The HYT 223 is the reliable, low-maintenance solution for stationary process control and mobile devices where fast and precise moisture measurement is required.
A PTFE filter efficiently protects the sensor from volatile organic compounds (VOC) and particles which also minimizes long-term drift effects.

The high-flyer: HYT.R411
Developed for meteorological applications, this digital RH/T module works right up to the stratosphere.
The factory-calibrated module for measurements at high altitudes and low temperatures measures relative humidity and temperature.
Thanks to its excellent reproducibility and response time required in meteorological balloons and drones, it ensures extra-fast measurement and is suitable for operational measurements down to -80 °C

The robust one: HYT 939P module with PTFE filter
Humidity module with a PTFE membrane filter to protect against VOCs and particles. The digital RH/T module with I²C outputs in a gas-tight TO39 housing is condensation-proof for 0..100%RH.
The sensor is compact, fast and universally applicable in HVAC, emission monitoring or industrial drying. Ideal for gas analyzers or compact probes without additional filter cap.
